Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 2026

King David Kosher Group is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or the device used. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance as our baseline.

Conformance target

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the level the European Accessibility Act points to for digital services. We build and maintain that conformance ourselves; no formal audit by an independent third party has been carried out.

  • W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA
  • European Accessibility Act — Directive (EU) 2019/882
  • EN 301 549 — the European standard for ICT accessibility

Our commitment

We believe information about our restaurants, opening hours, menus, kosher certification, location, should be available to everyone. This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a baseline, with the aim of improving over time.

Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time project. We review and improve the site regularly.

What we have done

Semantic structure: pages are built with semantic HTML, one h1 per page, a logical heading order, and a labelled main landmark.

Keyboard operable: all pages can be navigated using only a keyboard; focus is always visible.

Meaningful alt text: informative images carry descriptive alt text; decorative images have empty alt attributes.

AA colour contrast: text and interactive element colours are chosen to meet the 4.5:1 ratio required for normal text at WCAG AA.

Full RTL and Hebrew support: layout flips automatically for right-to-left locales; Heebo is self-hosted for complete Hebrew rendering.

Responsive design: the site works at any screen size, from mobile to desktop, with text that can be resized without loss of content.

Reduced-motion respected: animations are suppressed for users who have set prefers-reduced-motion.

Known limitations

Third-party services: links to WhatsApp, Wolt and Google Maps open third-party platforms whose accessibility is outside our control.

Recent imagery: some restaurant photos added recently are still awaiting full alt-text descriptions; we are adding these progressively.

If you encounter an accessibility issue not listed here, please tell us. Contact details below.

Feedback and help

If you hit an accessibility barrier, a page that is hard to read, a button that cannot be reached by keyboard, an image without a description, we want to know.

Contact us using the details below. We will respond within five business days and work to address any barrier within our control.

If you need content in an alternative accessible format, a Word document, larger print, a verbal description, we are happy to help.

What we have tested

A manual keyboard and screen-reader pass has not yet been carried out on this site. Automated accessibility checks (axe-core) run on every build, but automated tooling only catches part of the barriers and is no substitute for a human test. A manual pass, in Hebrew RTL as well as English, is planned; when it happens we will publish the date and the tools here.

No independent third-party accessibility audit has been commissioned. Everything stated on this page was assessed by us.

Why there is no accessibility widget

There is deliberately no accessibility overlay or toolbar on this site, no floating button promising to "fix" accessibility automatically. Screen-reader users report again and again that such tools make things worse: they override assistive-technology settings, inject incorrect labels and break navigation. Accessibility is built into the markup instead, semantic HTML, keyboard operation, contrast and alt text, so the site works with the tools you already use.

Physical access at our restaurants

Beyond the website, this is what we know about physical access at our two Athens restaurants. We publish only what has been confirmed, and mark plainly what has not.
